This tool was designed and developed by paleBLUEdot to support building owners and designers in energy efficiency and on-site solar scenario planning. The calculator includes building energy use intensity (EUI) targeting balanced against on-site solar energy generation for preliminary Net Zero Energy design concepts. The calculations available in the tool include:
Calculate estimated on-site solar potential of project concept (rooftop and ground mounted)
Calculate estimated Energy Use Intensity target required to achieve Net Zero Energy based on estimated on-site solar potential
Calculate recommended target EUI based on solar potential on site, OR calculate the required solar pv size based on projected EUI. Link to PVWATTS and ENERGY STAR Target Finder.
